Bucharest, Romania · 10th grade · Entrepreneurs

“Fourteen, and already patented”

Years before he founded anything, Antoan Uzunov watched an elderly blind man struggle to navigate a sidewalk full of parked cars in Sofia, and the image refused to leave him. The youngest member of this class — a tenth grader — he eventually turned that memory into BlindSpot, a wearable smart belt that uses 360-degree ultrasonic sensors to alert visually impaired users to obstacles through vibration. It's now patented (BG 5137 U1) and placed third in Europe out of roughly 13,000 entrants in the Blue Ocean Student Entrepreneur Competition. BlindSpot is only his most polished build: at 13 he helped design and construct an electric vehicle from scratch that won the Arctic Challenge, and he's shipped a string of live AI apps and websites for real clients. "I can't sit still," he says — and the proof is a patent and a portfolio of working products before most peers have finished a science fair.
