Safeguarding and integrity.
How consent works
Every Changemaker signs a media release before anything is published. Changemakers under 18 sign a release written for minors, and a parent or guardian signs alongside them. Changemakers who are 18 and over sign the adult release themselves.
Consent does not stop at the form. The written feature is sent to the Changemaker, and to a guardian where one is required, and it publishes only after they approve it.
What we never publish
We do not publish a home address, a school timetable or personal contact details. We do not publish anything a Changemaker or their guardian asks us to withhold, and we do not ask them to justify the request.
Corrections and removal
If something on a page is wrong, tell us and we will correct it. If a Changemaker or their guardian wants a page taken down, we take it down. There is no appeal to sit through and no form to complete first.
Write to privacy@giftedtalented.com. A person reads every message sent to that address.
How we write about young people
Changemakers are young people, not public figures, and coverage is written accordingly. We write about the work. We do not write about a young person's family circumstances, health or private life, and we do not publish material that would invite attention they did not ask for.
